Careprost plus eye drops help a person who suffers from hypotrichosis of eyelashes to get longer, darker and thicker eyelashes. Careprost plus eye drop is also used in the treatment of open-angle glaucoma. Careprost plus eye drops contain two potent generic medicines called Bimatoprost and Timolol. Bimatoprost helps in the growth of eyelashes by enhancing the anagen phase of eyelash growth and reducing the telogen phase. Bimatoprost and Timolol reduce the raised intraocular pressure in the glaucomatous eye by reducing the generation of aqueous humour in the eyeball and increasing the flow of the aqueous humour out of the eye.

How to administer Careprost plus eye drops:

For the treatment of hypotrichosis of eyelashes: Wash your face and dry it with the help of dry towel before applying this eye drop. Take a sterile eyelash brush and puts a few drops of Careprost plus eye drop over it. Then start applying these drops to line the base of the top eyelid and spread them to the tip of the eyelashes. To get a maximum result a person can use this medicine for at least 12-16 weeks. Careprost plus eye drop should be used in the night before going to bed.

For the treatment of open-angle glaucoma: A patient has to instill one drop of Careprost eye drop in the affected eye once a day.

Contraindications of Careprost plus eye drops:

Careprost plus eye drops should not be used by a person under some medical conditions such as liver diseases, kidney disorders, conjunctivitis, swelling of the eyes and breathing difficulty. Careprost plus eye drops should not be used by a pregnant lady or a breastfeeding mother.

Safety measures to be followed while applying Careprost plus eye drops:

  • A person is advised to remove the contact lenses before the administration of this eye drop.
  • A parson has to use this eye drop with caution so that eye drop may not come in contact with another part of the face.
  • Avoid driving a vehicle or operating any machinery after using this medicine.

What are the side effects a person has to face while using Careprost plus eye drops?

A person can face some side effects while administrating this eye drop such as dry eye, pigmentation in the iris, burning or itching sensation in the eyes, headache, lightheadedness, alteration in vision, conjunctivitis, and pigmentation of the area around the eye.

Drug interactions of Careprost plus eye drops:

Careprost plus eye drops should not be used along with those eye drops that contain Bimatoprost such as Latisse eye drop and Lumigan eye drop, etc. Careprost plus eye drops can show interaction with other medicines such as Propanolol, Diltiazem, Verapamil, Clonidine, Digoxin, Epinephrine, Methyldopa, Quinidine, Reserpine, and Theophylline.
