MTP Kit stands for Medical Termination of Pregnancy, contains Mifepristone and Misoprostol tablets which are used to terminate an unwanted or unplanned pregnancy, which is less than 49 days, in a safe and secure way.
How MTP Kit works?
MTP Kit contains tablets of two synthetic compounds i.e. Mifepristone and Misoprostol. Mifepristone prevents functions of natural progesterone and Misoprostol induces contraction of uterine muscles. In this way these compounds expel out fetus from the uterus.
Who should not take MTP Kit?
The females, who have ectopic pregnancy or suffering from uterine cancer, hemophilia, porphyria and hypersensitivity to Mifepristone or Misoprostol should not take this drug.
What other drugs will affects activity of MTP Kit?
The female should not take MTP Kit in combination with blood thinners, blood pressure drugs, antibiotic and migraine medicines.
How to use MTP Kit?
MTP Kit is available in the form of oral tablets. MTP Kit contains 5 tablets, one is of Mifepristone of 200mg and rests are of Misoprostol (each of 200mcg). The female should take Mifepristone tablet on day one orally. After two days, she should take all four tablets of Misoprostol orally as a single dose. On day 14, she should go for confirmation test of abortion.
What to do in case of missed dose?
MTP Kit is used when needed or when you require abortion, so missing of dose does not occur.

In some females, this drug can cause undesired effects like vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, fever, dizziness, cramps, pelvic pain and headache.

- Before using MTP Kit, the female should remove her IUD device, if she has.
